    During your visit, you are told the story of this fortress built by Adhémar de Beynac in the 12th century, including famous characters such as Aliénor d’Aquitaine, Richard the Lionheart and even Simon de Montfort. From the top of the tower in Beynac château, admire the lovely landscape below with another of the châteaux in Périgord Noir, Castelnaud, on the other side of the Dordogne.
