Screening of a lovely French film, "Séraphine", a biopic directed by Martin Provost in 2008, which won 7 César awards in 2009.
The story of the painter Séraphine de Senlis (wonderfully played by Yolande Moreau), a woman of great piety, who lived in great poverty, painting at night while working as a domestic during the day, and became a major figure in naïve art and art brut.
Her recently rediscovered work is on show at the Musée de Senlis, of course, and at the Musée Maillol in Paris.
The screening will be followed by a discussion of the film over a friendly drink.
