Lecture by Jacques Jaubert, Professor Emeritus of Prehistory.
It's a challenge to map the earliest periods of our prehistory: from the Australopithecines of Africa to the Mesolithic of Europe and the Late Glacial confines of pre-Columbian America.
Together, we will leaf through and comment on the results of these dozens of maps (and chronological friezes), all previously unpublished and divided into five groups: 1- The first settlements of the Early Palaeolithic. 2- The diversity of humanity (Neanderthals, Denisovans, early Homo sapiens) in the Middle Paleolithic. 3- The advent and undivided domination of modern man. 4- Asia, a formidable terrain for 21st-century prehistory and 5- The conquest of new worlds (Wallacea, Sahul, Japan, Beringia, the Americas).
Signing sessions from 5:30pm. Conference at 6:30pm
