Two 100% gourmet days

On the Thursday and Friday of Ascension weekend, come to Sarlat to meet the local farmers ! To find them, just stroll through the streets of the medieval town centre. And bring a large basket! Milk, honey, wine, sausages, mushrooms, jams and chestnuts of the Périgord and even caviar from Neuvic… This is one of the major gourmet gatherings of the year !

Along the way, the stands invite you to taste and purchase local products such as strawberries, walnuts and – lest we forget – delicious foie gras of Sarlat (, prepared with duck or goose of the Périgord. Stop over at the craft beer stand and don’t miss a taste of Périgord truffles or local cheese!

Here, the local experts share all their secrets and knowledge! From hunting truffles to gathering strawberries of the Périgord , not to mention carving demonstrations of goose and duck, this is also an opportunity to see how walnut oil is pressed!

On Rue Tourny, the living farm is always a favourite attraction, featuring cows, donkeys, horses, sheep and many other farm animals of the region. Kids will also love the make-up, colouring and walnut shell painting workshops, and they’ll have a lovely little souvenir to take home!
