Located in Les Eyzies, in the heart of the Périgord Noir, the Font-de-Gaume cave is one of the most beautiful Paleolithic sanctuaries in the world. Famous for its polychrome paintings, but also its engravings, it gathers animal figurations and numerous "signs" dated from approximately 14 000 years. It is one of the last caves decorated with polychrome paintings open to the public. The cave has been a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1979. Bookstore on site. Online booking only.
