Journées européennes du Patrimoine : la très curieuse histoire du Trésor de l'Abbé Glory

Exhibition: The Very Curious Story of Abbot Glory's Treasure. %C0 To mark the 60th anniversary of his death, discover the “treasure” of Abbé Glory, a renowned 20th-century prehistorian who worked notably in the Lascaux caves, in Montignac, and at Bara-Bahau, in Le Bugue. Long thought to be lost, this collection was rediscovered under extraordinary circumstances and subsequently studied by Mr. and Mrs. Delluc. Part of the collection is now housed at the Bugue Media Library, while the most fragile pieces have been entrusted to the National Museum of Prehistory in Les Eyzies. The exhibition will feature his suitcase, his microscope, tracing paper, books, photographs, drawings, articles, and testimonials. It will also recount the astonishing story of this treasure, long consideredas lost, whose various pieces resurfaced one after another, long after the death of Father Glory
