The area’s farmers’ markets are not-to-be-missed events where the locals gather!
Under the official label “Marchés des Producteurs de Pays”, assigned by the Chamber of agriculture, farmer’s markets are the ideal places to purchase high-quality, seasonal farm-fresh products!
Here, farmers have nothing to hide; they guarantee you total accountability in terms of agricultural practices and irreproachable quality in terms of production and processing methods.
These farmer’s markets include the weekly markets of Beynac, Marquay and Salignac.

Discover the gourmet products of the Périgord at night in the summertime!
Night markets, held from the end of June to the beginning of September, are great places to meet the farmers, breeders and craftsmen of the region! Just imagine… As a starter, duck rillettes from a local breeder; as a main dish, a duck breast seared on a griddle with a side of Sarlat-style potatoes, and… Why not top it off with a Périgord-style cheese, purchased directly from the local farmer?
Oh, and let us not forget the wine and dessert!
The locals might mention that you should bring your own cutlery, but the communal table welcomes you and your family.
