Head for the village of La Roque-Gageac , built along an impressively steep cliffside!
On the way, don’t miss the listed historic castle of the
village of Beynac-et-Cazenac !
And to get a spectacular view, head for the
village of Castelnaud , where the houses appear to be stacked on top of each other! At this famous castle, you’ll find not only a breath-taking view but also an amazing amount of history.  

And speaking of great views, don’t miss the village of Domme  perched on the cliffside! With its ramparts, Templar Prison and panoramic view over the valley, this bastide of golden stones has kept its old-fashioned charm intact!

Continue on to the village of Belvès , overlooking the Nauze Valley.

In the Vézère Valley, at the confluence of the Dordogne and Vézère rivers, the village of Limeuil  appears to have stepped straight out of the Middle Ages! Don’t miss the buccolic charm of Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère , nestled along the riverbank.  In Saint-Amand-de-Coly , you’ll get the opportunity to enter the 12th-century abbey church, considered the most beautiful fortified church in the Périgord.
